At Awanui Labs, we are committed to providing efficient, high-quality diagnostic services to our communities. To maintain this commitment, we must make sure we operate our service in a sustainable way.

In the greater Wellington region, Awanui Labs are currently providing additional services to the community which we are not funded to provide. For example, we operate more collection centres on Saturdays than we are not contracted or funded to support. To align our services more closely with funding levels, we have made the decision to reduce our Saturday service locations from seven to four effective from 25th January.

• Saturday services will no longer be available at our Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Upper Hutt, and The Terrace (Wellington City) collection centres.
• Monday to Friday services at these locations will remain unchanged.
• On Saturdays, services will be available at the following centres:
  • Porirua
  • Lower Hutt
  • Wellington Hospital Outpatients
  • Masterton Hospital

We understand that accessing your local service is important to you, and we appreciate your understanding as we make these changes. Our staff are doing their very best to give every patient the care and respect you deserve, so when you visit us, please do the same and treat our staff with patience and respect.
