When Labtests started out, referrers were given the option of receiving paper copies in addition to HL7 results. Some elected to have results sent both electronically and as paper copies. We are reviewing our policies and believe this practice is outdated and may no longer be required by these referrers. We feel the discontinuation of paper copies would have a positive environmental impact and would improve patient care as the potential for privacy issues is increased by having manual processes.
What do I need to do?
If you do not wish to receive paper copies of laboratory results you don’t need to do anything and you will no longer receive paper copies of your patient results after the 30/5/2023.
If you do want to continue to receive paper copies of results please email: auk.feedback@awanuilabs.co.nz
The following information will need to be provided:
- Name
- Doctor code/codes/ department code for which you would like to receive paper copies-
- Please note you are able to select a doctor code for only one work place setting if you have multiple doctor codes
Please indicate in the header of the email: “Paper copy of results required.” So we are easily able to track your request.
If you have any other feedback on our process change please email: cheryle.dyson@awanuilabs.co.nz
