Awanui Labs is improving the delivery of patient results directly to referrers using Medtech Evolution across New Zealand.

From 30 September, referrers who are using the Medtech Evolution system, can electronically receive their patient’s test results including blood, urine, histology and cytology results in real time as they are reported by the laboratories. Awanui Labs will be migrating eligible practices to this new system over the coming weeks. This replaces the ‘store and forward’ system currently deployed for most practices.

The results will still be presented to the referrer in the same manner as they are now, however they will be sent much faster, creating greater efficiency for referrers and patients.

There is no action required by referrers who are using Evolution as Medtech has enabled the connection to Awanui Labs for you. Those referrers who are not using Medtech Evolution will continue to receive results the same as before.
