Notification of Industrial Action has been received for a partial withdrawal of services at Awanui Labs from 28 April – 11 May.

The industrial action will impact referrers and patients as per below:

Additional Testing (Test Adds)

• Additional tests can NOT be added to samples already received
• Order all the tests you may need for each patient
• If additional tests are required a new request and a new sample will be required.

Microbiology

• Turnaround times may be delayed.

Collection centres

• Patients who are required to pay for their blood tests may have a longer than usual wait or they may be redirected to an alternative collection centre

Patient Bookings

• Advise patients to use the online booking system to make a blood collection appointment
• Avoid using the call centre to make a booking.
• Expect longer than usual wait times.

Call Centre

• Use our website for non-urgent general enquiries
• Expect longer than usual wait times if you need to call the call centre.
